The line has again deviated to middle and leg, the trajectory has got flatter and the pace has got quicker. Interestingly, he has not been using the doosra as often as he used to before. Will this series see the comeback of the doosra or will he continue to use it sparingly?

Shane Watson: Much to the relief of his fans, he has been injury-free for some time now and is fast approaching the peak of his career. By virtue of playing in the IPL and his involvement in the last Australian tour of India, Watson is almost an India veteran. He can win a game in a one hour of violent batting and can turn the game around with his aggressive seam bowling. He has already shown, in his brief career, that he is a big-game player. During the IPL held in India, he took an off-stump guard and peppered the onside. That was Twenty20 cricket, but we could see more innovations from him in this series.

Team India Ready to Face New zealand

India's four-day conditioning camp leading into the tri-series in Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy finished with a three-hour net session at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The players will now disperse to play for their respective companies in the week-long BCCI Corporate Trophy, starting Tuesday.

This camp was the first time the team had come together in close to seven weeks, and coach Gary Kirsten felt four days were enough for them to get back to the intensity required for the packed season, with mostly one-day cricket scheduled ahead.

Unlike the first three days, the players didn't get into any fielding drills on Sunday, instead concentrating on the batting and bowling in the nets. Like the first three days, the short ball remained one of the focus areas. Similar to the two previous days, Ishant Sharma spent extra time - apart from the nets - working on his yorkers, with Paddy Upton, the team's mental conditioning coach, giving him a single stump and three small markers to bowl to.

Bangladesh have the ability to succeed in the shortest format. They started the last World Twenty20 with that promise, beating West Indies in the league stages to qualify for the Super Eights and earn a higher seed in this edition. But they are yet to win a game since that win.

They may be favourites for one of the two Super Eights slots from Group A but it's against India, not Ireland, that they will want to put up a special show. They need not struggle for motivation: in the past they have tended to raise their game against India. Look no further than the World Cup in 2007, when they were responsible for knocking India out.

The shrewd planning and format of the tournament, though, means this game is most likely to count for nothing - unless Ireland spring up a surprise. For if, as expected, India and Bangladesh go through to the second round, they neither carry any points nor get an easier group in the Super Eights by the virtue of having won both matches.
